The Protein Chemistry Laboratory is overseen by a User Committee of dedicated faculty members from several different Colleges at Texas A&M University. The role of the committee is to act as a liaison between the users in all departments and the Laboratory. The committee is involved in decision-making concerning the introduction of new services and the procurement of grant monies when new instrumentation and technologies are required.
The committee is made up of a chairman and five faculty members. The Laboratory Director, Larry Dangott, reports to the committee on a quarterly basis regarding financial and scientific affairs of the Laboratory. During these meetings the committee is brought up-to-date on the latest developments in the lab and they discuss any user issues of which the facility Director should be knowledgeable. In addition, the committee members act as resources to the user-clients by acting as an intermediary to the Laboratory Director and can answer many questions about the Laboratory’s daily operations and address many of the users’ routine, protein, chemical problems. We invite you to contact any member with your questions or suggestions.
